While most items are custom with respect to color and size, here are a few unique textiles designed for particular situations.  Custom weaving involves collaboration with the client to turn a concept into a design and finished item.  (Click images for detail.)

Wall hanging to brighten a tall narrow, space.  18" x 52", dark red wool in overshot weave on cream colored linen plain weave background.

Hems top and bottom have a smaller pattern and are turned to just meet the large pattern and hold hanging sticks.  The hanging is fully reversible front
to back with a slightly different, more dark red, look to the other side.

This project took many months of design.  The pattern and size were easy, but color was a far-reaching exploration.  Many colors were sampled on the computer and loom before choosing this very traditional dark rusty red and cream combination typical of colonial era overshot coverlets.

A red-orange floral-upholstered sofa is the centerpiece of the above living room.  Two throws were desired to extend the color and feel of the sofa to two brown side chairs.

The curves of the sofa itself and the vertical tendrils of leaves and flowers on the upholstery inspired the choice of an undulating twill weave.  A soft, moderately fine wool that comes in a wide array of colors was selected.  Two hues of red and red-orange, close in value, keep the background twill subtle and the overall appearance simple.  Light gold against red-orange reveals the undulations clearly in the contrasting narrow stripes. The gold is from the extensive color palette of Paternayan tapestry wool. Though intended for needlepoint and rugs, this yarn works well in accent color quantities in a blanket.

Square (17") mat in very heavy linen for the top of a cabinet with wood inlay work.  Items were to be placed on top of the mat, so the center is simply plain weave. Linen in two slightly different shades of brown highlight the woods and bring out the huck weave border.
